One Day at Farnborough

Farnborough, viewed as the birthplace of British aviation, hosted its first air show 64 years ago. Originally it featured only British-designed aircraft, but since 1962 it has become an international event showcasing the best of the global aviation industry. This year 11 countries exhibited their aircraft at the show.

One of the most visited displays at the show - "Richard Branson's spaceship". The show guide claims that 'SpaceShipTwo is not only much larger but it is also much more sophisticated and comfortable. After all, it is a machine that has been designed to carry fare-paying passengers". So if you decide to spend some of your cash, please book here.

And some high-profile potential passenger - prince Michael of Kent - is investigating whether there are any age limits for the passengers.

The appearance of the Breitling Jet Team took place first time since 1972 when the aerobatic jet formation had appeared alongside the Red Arrows at the Patrouille de France.

And some members of the team...

The RAF Falcons Parachute Display Team is considered as one of the best known display teams in the UK. Here are the boys starting from the left - James, Ben, Rob, Niel, Carl, Jon, Dave and Gary!

And these girls were amazing - they simply stayed on the top wing for the duration of the flight!!!

They say - it just would not be the Farnborough Airshow without the RAF's Red Arrows...

And another team of RAF Tornado GR4 Role Demo - Rich, David "Simmo", Bev and Chris "Stradders" - who demonstrated unique capabilities and manoeuvres, which sequence is based on a typical scenario that UK crews witness during the real operations.

The young cadet at the show...
And some of the visitors...The little girl was mega-cute!
And these were ... well...

Ninety five percent of visitors had cameras, even some three-year-old ones. Here is one busy photographer is waiting for the shot.
 And some are resting ...

And the king of the aircraft industry...
Take it easy on Monday,
