Random Thoughts on Thursday Night... Russia and Russian Fashion

The recent meeting with the young designer VoRoPe made me discover the whole new side of the Russian culture. Something which existence I'd never guessed about. To start with - me and fashion do live on the different steets, I'd also say different towns...Hopefully wouldn't go as far as different planets - that would be so disappointing :)

From when I was a teenager, the two kings of the Russian couture existed - Slava Zaitsev and Valentin Yudashkin. In the country where for 70 years women's only choice of lingerie was cotton panties Bridget Jones style, they were discovery and a brief of the fresh air of freedom.

But my quick look around the street market at Strelka made me re-assess and re-think. So many beautiful quality piece executed in unique style by new generation of the Russian designers.

Just watched the  amazing  Haute Couture collection of Ulyana Sergeenko HERE and I loved it... She is very gifted Russian designer and I love the fact that the Russian Haute Couture has more citizens on its narrow streets of high podiums...

Beautiful! Exciting! Something to look forward now at Fashion Weeks in Paris, Moscow and London, even for such non-fashionista like me..
