Such a good day. This year I firstly and fully enjoyed the Mother's Day. My hubby and my two year old created a hand-made masterpiece with photos and stickers. Ad there were lovely tulips of all colours of the rainbow.
And then I took my two year old to Ham House. They had a special Mother's Day offer - mums go for free, just bring your kid. Such a great opportunity to explore the house and see the dresses from Anna Karenina directed by Joe Wright. These dresses have earned Oscar in the best costume design category in this year Academy awards. Such a good opportunity at your doorstep!
I learnt that some parts of the film have in fact been shot in the House, which - despite being a totally English piece of architecture - could be easily transferred in my mind into something typically Russian.
I loved Joe Wright's take on the Russian classic. To those Russians who question how an Englishman can understand the thoughts and ideas of one of the greatest Russian writers. remember that Russian somehow managed to direct their takes on Sherlock, Musketeers or the Count of Monte Cristo.
I do not get anoyed with Keira Knightly, in fact I think she is a wonderful actress, who is taken her niche in the cinematography. I did think that Anna in her performance was great. More so, Keira gave her that extra dimension which I cannot get from reading the book. Keira made me believe that a woman can betray her child for love, something I always struggle to comprehend.
And here are some photos of today.
Loved the experience of visiting the House and shall be definitely coming back here to investigate better, and maybe for a shoot of one of my lovely friends.

p.s. To those of you who neither have seen the film, nor have recently read the book, watch the film first ;)
