BARCELONA

The city is absolutely amazing and though it wasn't my first time there (some may noticed that one of the first posts here was about Barcelona), it felt as if I was there for the first time. This trip was unusual as it was the first trip without my boys (read as hubby and son), and I had two days to spend there with one of my best friends, in a complimentary Mandarin Oriental, with a driver who would pick us up from the airport... Sounds good even to me!

As I was sitting in the airport in London waiting for my departure, somehow I remembered about film Taken and texted my friends exactly the following message:

Sitting in the airport drinking latte and reading about Barca. By the way is the guy who is supposed to meet me reliable and he is not going to take me to some Spanish brothel?

She called back to say that the guy most certainly would take me on a tour around various brothels and then to Mandarin Oriental... He he..

So hello Barcelona!

We had two amazing days, exploring the city and here are a few snaps. Barcelona is all about walking, whether it's breathing the sea air on the streets of Barceloneta, mixing with the crowds on la Rambla, climbing on the walls of Castell de Montjuic or getting lost in narrow streets of el Born.

I am sure there are plenty of posts around the internet about must-see-in-Barcelona things. So I would not take your time. My Barcelona experience included having the best tapas in a tiny tapateria somewhere on the streets of el Born, best girlie's talk while sipping cava in Passeig de Gracia (Queremos mas cava por favour!), bike ride with a guy from Liverpool who was telling us hilarious stories including 'how difficult it was to find a place to rent to be able to grow 'crops'', amazing views from Montjuic, best food ever Port Olimpic,  fantastic Font Magica not far from Placa Espanya (apparently the show is on only Friday and Saturday), taking lift to one of Sagrada toewers and then sneaking into the other (Babe, they should have told us there are two towers! They didn't give us a choice), and one of the most beautiful and emotional performances I have ever seen - Tablao Flamenko Cordobes...

And of course, it just happened to be one of the best sunsets in my life... :)

And most importantly, I just want to let you know that I finally have got enough confidence to say - I am a photographer! I am currently re-shaping this blog into my photography page, and while I am still working on its content, I am looking forward to this new challenge in my life.

Yours'
