After Christmas Blues... Or in Anticipation of New Year!

We are in the UK and that means that in about three days our festive holidays will be long forgotten. The turkeys have all be eaten, the candles have been blown out, the presents - opened and champagne - consumed. And with rain pouring outside exactly like cats&dogs, it's all a bit sad...

But hey, we are Russians in the end of the day, and that means that seven days in the new year, we will be raising our glasses in the celebration of Russian Orthodox Christmas, and then just when the rubbish collectors are finishing clearing away Christmas trees, on 13 January we will celebrate our Old New Year. Yes, I know the name is a bit meaningless, but that is exactly what it is we celebrate - the old date when New Year had used to be celebrated in Russia before the country adopted Gregorian calendar. So cheers, Julius Caesar! ;)

And as the clock continues count down, I am collecting all memories of 2013 in that special memory box of mine, and finishing off the Letter to My Child...Something which will only feature in the family photo album I am about to finish.

And as the champagne is cooling in the fridges, I wish you all very Happy New Year! Let it be the way you want it to be...

Yours

Tasha
