You Are Being Dismissed Not

Is it the end of the year, the end of the world or is it just our lives? It's not even me running out of time. The time seems to run out of itself...

The weekend was amazingly busy. Whilst trying to give my hubby a bit of space when he was working hard trying to finish off one of the work project, me and my nearly two year old bonded over a number of activities including gardens walks, visit to one set of friends, attendance of the local drama school performance, visit to Natural History Museum and late dinner at other friends.

With his upcoming birthday I yet to sort party bags, balloons and outsource the cake! Pretty bad, I know. But this is what working mummies do. Outsourcing and delegation are two ways to make it work. Unless it's a school bakery competition, I feel I just have enough chances to get away with it.

Two more activities on our agenda this week-end included Hyde Park Winter Wonderland and the Enchanted Woodland at Syon Park (photos). You have plenty of time to experience fun, crowdedness  and overpriced rides and food and drinks (still fun, though) of the former event. As for the magic forest walks - this will have to wait till 2013 provided we don't experience the end of this world scheduled for whatever date in December, and already re-scheduled for some indefinite date in 2013. Is it my brilliant memory or we do seem to be forecasted with the end of the world drama every six months? Russian entrepreneurs wouldn't lose a minute. The insurance companies started selling the insurance under slogan - "Get insured before the world ends", while others tried to sell the goods which would assist in making it through the end of the world.

As for our little family - we have got just enough champagne in stock to celebrate the end of the world in true style :)

Here I am sharing with you two things which have been on my mind today taking it away from the hot topic dedicated to the end of the world The first is being - how to I resolve the space issue for my uploads without spending any cash on google. Apparently I ran out of space.

And the second was more of philosophical nature. I figured out for myself that despite the fact that we try to be open-minded, we often dismiss others without giving ourselves a chance to find out what's hidden behind ugly shoes, ridiculous ties, funky socks, weirdly shaped dresses or eyebrow-raising hairstyles. How many interesting conversations we avoided, how many people we've got not to know, and how many of those we didn't get the chance to become friends trying to fit their differentness within the stereotype of our little minds? Dozens? Hundreds? Thousands? One of my New Year resolutions will be not to dismiss other before giving myself a chance to get to know them better. Exclamation mark.
