Would you miss the spring if it never came? Or summer? Poor dinosaurs must have died from the grieve when warm and sunny weather had never come...
Spring took me by surprise. And don't laugh...What sort of surprise am I talking about in the mid of April?! Right. Two years being on maternity leave I remember sitting in the Gardens with my laptop sipping lemonade, wearing tiny shorts and t-shirt. This year I am still trying to make up my mind every single morning - which coat I shall wear today. And yes, I do have more than one coat.
Hence I was missing from this page for some time, here is a short summary of my last month.
Coldest Easter bank holiday week-end since 2008. The only way I can remember is that that year we have rented a car and drove around Greater London and England exploring. We must have had over 1,000 km after four days - the only reason being for it - snow and coldest weather. When you have two and a half year old, you loose the right to spend hours in the car getting from one place to another. Little ones can only enjoy same for a definite period of time - and that period of time is clearly not taking longer than about an hour... Instead we spent days browsing from one museum to another..Fun! Fun! Fun!
The highlight of the spring activities was (and here I hope the mom of four-year old whose birthday party we have just attended this week-end)an exhibition of Manet at Royal Academy of Art. I enjoyed looking at Gardens of Tuileries and Berthe Morisot with a Bouquet of Violets, while my son was putting puzzle on my iphone under a strict supervision of my hubby. For those of you who never had a chance to attend the exhibition, Curzon Cinemas will present Vermeer and Music: The Art of Love and Leisure which is bringing the world's greatest exhibitions to cinema screen worldwide.
Amongst the others were Egg Hunt In Royals Botanical Gardens, visit to Transport Museum, Willow Farm and a get together of Russian London Photoclub (with photos here).
Amongst upcoming - a short trip to Madrid which I get very excited about. The Corral de la Moreria (the most known tablao Flamenco in the world) is unlikely to happen this year. But a visit to Museo National Del Prado (my choice)and Zoo Aquarium de Madrid (my son's choice)is a must. But amongst all - sun, food and wine...What else a Londoner can wish for after lengthy cold winter?! ;)
All I need now is a new pair of shoes and a dress.
And a lovely 'Are you ready for Spring?' song
vasha Tasha ;)
