OY-sters

I do not like oysters. Being very picky and conservative about the food, I have tried mushrooms first time being 20(!) years old. I think I could survive eating potatoes three times a day. Easy-peasy! But nowadays I eat lots - seafood, meats, veggies (though broccoli in our house somehow makes its way only to the little one's plate!), but oysters are out of my comfort zone.

But if on opposite, you love oysters, please please go to West Mersea!

One of the best local places to eat oysters would be West Mersea Oyser Bar which serves fresh seafood and fish, as well as selling million of oysters to restaurants in London, Brussels, Paris and Hong Kong. King of Belgium gets a box of fresh oysters from West Mersea once a week, every week.

And here are few funny little facts about oysters (courtesy of West Mersea Oyster Bar)...

  • An oyster is bisexual - female one year, male the next.
  • Oysters are full of zinc which boosts blood flow and makes your libido rocket.
  • Oysters has two beating hearts.
  •  Oysters have been around for 200 million years (!) unchanged (!!!)...
I fully enjoyed my fish and chips, while my hubby had his fair bit of those squeaky little monsters! And we will definitely come back!
